Chanda Kochhar has been named as the most powerful woman in business in India for the second consecutive year by Fortune Magazine.Fortune magazine credits Kochchar, MD and CEO of the ICICI Bank for balancing growth and profitability and pushing up the bank's valuation by almost two-thirds. Mrs. Chanda D. Kochhar, B.A, MBA, ICWA, MMS (Finance) has been Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Limited since May 01, 2009. Mrs. Kochhar began her career with ICICI as a Management Trainee in 1984 and has thereon successfully risen through the ranks by handling multidimensional assignments and heading all the major functions in ICICI Bank at various points in time. She has been Head of International Banking Arm of ICICI Bank Ltd., since October 2006. Mrs. Kochhar has wide experience in the fields of corporate credit, infrastructure financing, e-commerce strategy and retail business. From October 2007 to April 2009, she served as Joint Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at ICICI Bank Ltd. Mrs. Kochhar served as the Chief Financial Officer of Corporate Centre at ICICI Bank. On 26 January 2011, the 62th Republic Day  Ms Chanda Kochar is awarded  with Padma Bhushan award from trade and industry.
